Star Apps: Pentatonix
Between the success of “The Sing-Off” and “Pitch Perfect,” it’s fair to say that A capella is making a definite comeback. Pentatonix, a five-piece vocal group, fresh off their well-attended European tour, has been reaping the benefits of the increased interest. They’ve already garnered 4.5 million subscribers and 300 million views on their YouTube channel and a Top 10 album with “PTX Volume 2″; sold out their entire North American tour, which runs from February 4 to March 9; collaborated with Lucky Charms cereal on its 50th anniversary commercial, which premieres during CBS’s 2014 Grammy broadcast; and are set to appear on “Sesame Street” on February 7. What do you have to do to prepare for this tour? Well, actually we were just preparing, because we’ve done the same set list for a year and a half now, and we want to bring something new to the table. As far as prep, we’re just getting ready to feel the jet lag and language barriers. But we’re looking at it in a positive light, because it’s going to be incredible.
